South India

Small rectangles of printed wood, mailed anywhere in India, each one built around a single South Indian place. That's this collection in a sentence — but the point of it sits in the specifics, not the count.

Kerala supplies the backwaters: over 900 kilometres of canals and lagoons through Alappuzha and Kumarakom, navigated by traditional kettuvallam houseboats, plus Kalaripayattu, widely regarded as one of the world's oldest surviving martial arts. Karnataka supplies a contrast in the same state — Bengaluru's IT-export economy on one side, the Vijayanagara ruins and musical stone pillars of Hampi on the other, with Coorg's coffee estates in between. Andhra Pradesh's magnet centres on the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple at Tirupati, among the most-visited pilgrimage sites on Earth, alongside a second design for Horsley Hills' cooler Deccan climate. Hyderabad's magnet carries the Charminar's four arches and its old Nizam-era nickname, City of Pearls. Chennai and Tamil Nadu cover Marina Beach, the Margazhi Carnatic music season, and the granite Shore Temple standing directly on the Bay of Bengal at Mahabalipuram. Telangana, India's youngest state, gets its own design built around Golconda Fort's diamond trade and the Kakatiya-era Ramappa Temple.

Looking north instead? Browse East India's ancient sites, North India's Himalayan trails, Western India's forts and beaches, or North East India's tribal heartland — every one of them sits together on the Indian State Fridge Magnets page, and anything outside India lives in the World collection.
